We have explained in detail before about how to access Gmail, Hotmail, etc in Outlook.com and today we give you insights on how to access another popular email service, i.e. Yahoo Mail in Outlook. It is quite simple to do and essentially follows the same pattern as that of other email clients and you need to make minimal changes in Outlook’s configuration to incorporate your Yahoo Mail account in it. So here are the instructions to accomplish this task.

First, you need to activate POP access in your Yahoo Mail account and for that you need to,

  • Log in to your Yahoo account
  • Select the Mail Options
  • From that, set up the POP & Forwarding option
  • Save the settings

Then you need to configure Yahoo Mail in Outlook, say Outlook 2013 and for that you have to,

  • Run Outlook 2013
  • Navigate to POP and then in the Accounts Setting page, enter the required credentials such as display name, Email Address (Your Yahoo email), Account Type (POP3), etc
  • The incoming mail server is pop.mail.yahoo.com and outgoing mail server is smtp.mail.yahoo.com
  • Enter your Username and Password as in your Yahoo account

Now it is time for the last bit of configurations and authentications and here is what you need to do,

  • Click on the More Settings tab, and in that you have to do the following
  • Check the box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
  • Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server
